In total the property is 45 hectares, approximately 100 acres with 8 hectares devoted to cultivation of grapes for the local dry white wine “Muscadet”. The vineyards crown the property with gentle slopes leading to the river La Maine that borders Les Roussieres. At the other end of the property, surrounded by vineyards you will find a large stone cross or “calvaire”containing a small altar built for pilgrims in the 18th century. Walking the property is a relaxing and healthy endeavour but be aware that you will be sharing the space with the dairy cows that graze the fields.

The 15th century two storey home has been substantially updated over the years with central heating, 2 full bathrooms and can comfortably accommodate 8 persons and up to 10 guests. A magnificent granite fireplace warms the great room with its tiled floors, metre thick stone walls and high wood beamed ceilings. The rooms are all spacious especially the huge upper floor master bedroom with its tall wooden shuttered windows that overlook the courtyard and its own large stone fireplace. And what French manoir would be complete without an authentic “cave”, or wine cellar, servants quarters and stables all in original condition.
